Visit the mountains around Salzburg

Whether by foot or by cable car, guests can reach the summit of the Untersberg directly from our hotel. From atop the Untersberg visitors will enjoy a magnificent view of Salzburg, Berchtesgaden and Tyrol.

If you don’t feel you are up to the hike, let yourself to be chauffeured to the summit via the Untersberg cable car.

Another option for our guests is to ascend the summit of the Schafberg Mountain. Why not enjoy a ride via cable car to the top and let the beautiful natural scenery inspire you?

Discover for yourself the origins of Salzburg

Not far from the Sallerhof is Salzburg’s open-air village museum.

Preserved farmhouses, original handicrafts and traditional amenities will make your excursion to the open-air museum unforgettable.

At the Salzwelten in Hallein or in Hallstaat visitors can trace the origins and history of salt mining in our region. While there, take a gondola ride across the mystical salt lake and forge through the deep passages of a former salt mine.

Sights to see in Germany, our neighbour

Since we located on the border with Germany, visiting our neighbor is very easy and well worth the time. Berchtesgaden, with its natural gem, Lake Königsee, is a favored attractions of visitors.

Visit the pilgrimage church of St. Bartholmä, travel by boat across the lake and listen to the marvelous echo that reverberates from across the rocky facade of the Watzmann Mountain.

The Kehlsteinhaus, known also as the Eagles Nest, is a remnant of the Hitler-era and offers a majestic view of the Berchtesgaden region.
