Eagle's Nest
Hitler's "tea house" at Mount Kehlstein in the Berchtesgaden Alps
Our route takes us past Mount Untersberg, steeped in myth, and past picturesque rural villages to the Obersalzberg at 1,000 m above sea level.
The road to the Eagle's Nest starts here. It is one of Europe's finest mountain roads and you can only travel along it on board a special bus.
A great view above the Berchtesgaden Alps
Finally, a elevator brings us to the Mount Kehlstein peak restaurant at 1,834 m.
The Eagle's Nest was a present for Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday.
There is a splendid view of the mountains of Salzburg, Tyrol and Berchtesgaden from this historical location.
