Hohenwerfen
Castle became widely known for providing
the backdrop for the film "Where Eagles
Dare".
After
taking a cable-car and
a couple of short walks on foot, we can step
into the largest ice caves in the world. A
labyrinth of tunnels over 47 km long extends
through this massive cave system in the mountainside.
1 km has been made accessible and can be entered
by visitors. In the company of experienced
cave guides, our path leads us over
a huge subterranean glacier and past mysterious
ice figures to bring us into another world,.
To
make the most of this tour it is essential
to wear warm clothing, sturdy footwear and
have a certain amount of fitness for the
walk up to the caves and the journey through
the fascinating dream-like world inside them.
Afterwards, everyone will be ready for refreshments
before we bring you back to Salzburg. |
