In the year 1965 the movie that was to become one of the most successful productions in film history was first screened.
Following the enormous success of the stage musical "Sound of Music" (written and composed by Rogers and Hammerstein - the work was performed on Broadway almost 1500 times, won 6 Tony awards and sold more than 3 million records), Robert Wise produced and directed the film of the same name.
We will take you to the places where the story of the Trapp family was filmed. The original "Sound of Music" tour begins in the Mirabell Gardens, where Maria von Trapp and the children danced around the statue of Pegasus and sang the song "Do re mi".
Our next stop is in front of Leopoldskron Castle, which was adopted as the home of the Trapp family.
