The road leads you through the Lammertal valley and Gosau to the Hallstätter Lake. Hallstatt itself is also worth a visit - the area was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1997.
Then you head towards the Traunsee Lake by way of Bad Aussee and Bad Ischl (the summer residence of the emperor Franz Josef). Halfway to Gmunden you turn to Steinbach am Attersee and cruise along the Mondsee lake and Wolfgang See lake and finally head back to the Sallerhof through the Salzkammergut.
