The tour begins by the Palace of Mirabell built in the year 1606 for the Archbishop Wolf Dietrich and is today home to the office of the local Mayor and city offices.

Then pass the Mozarteum (University of Music) one of the world's most prestigious music academies. Crossing over the Salzach (Salt) river which was once a major transport route you will have a wonderful view of this magical city.

Part 2 - Salzburg Boat Trip tour

An attempt was also made to start up Passenger ship service on the river. Due to the shoals in the river and the weak engines at that time the service had to be discontinued in 1891. More than a century later, since the year 2002, travel on the Salzach River has been made possible again.
