Fortresses and Palaces: family excursions in Salzburg
Show your children the world of knights, princes and princesses. Even though there never were any princes in Salzburg, your little ones are sure to feel like one. The imposing buildings of times long gone by like the Fortress Hohensalzburg or the labyrinth of the palace gardens of Mirabell are sure to impress your little ones, not to mention yourself. Afterwards you can head out to Hellbrunn with the Salzach ship ‘Amadeus'. The palace's entertaining trick fountains might leave you dripping wet but definitely in good humor as only a few kilometers will still be separating you from your dry, comfy room at the Hotel Sallerhof in Grodig.
As you can see, Salzburg has a lot to offer to families. This way also the children can thoroughly enjoy a city trip - especially if one takes a break in one of Salzburg's many famous confectionaries or cafés every now and then. A slice of delicious cake and a steaming cup of hot chocolate can work true wonders.
