Have you already been to a zoo at night?
In Summer (from August 3rd- September 8th) the Salzburg Zoo offers the possibility to visit the animals at night unill 11pm. But you don’t have to be scared- there are guides, that accompany you and give further information on the animals.
The Zoo Salzburg is home to 1200 animals (140 different species) which are housed in nature-oriented, spacious areas. Many of them are crepuscular, therefore there is a lot to see in the late evening.
Maybe you already know the Castle of Hellbrunn in Salzburg with its famous water games and trick fountains. But have you been there at night too?
Until the end of August you have the possibility to take an evening tour (every hour until 9 p.m.) and enjoy the water games in a different atmosphere.
The combination of culture, fun and cooling is truly unique and very welcome, especially on hot summer days.
The Zoo Hellbrunn was opened in 1961 and hence exists since 50 years. Ever since it has become a popular place of excursion, for guests and locals as well.
As “reward” for the loyality of the visitors of the Zoo Hellbrunn, on February 27 you can enter the Zoo with the same entrance fee as in the Year 1961. These days it was a Shilling, on February 2011 it is 10 Cent!
The world-famous aquatic gardens, the loveliest summer residence north of the Alps, and a spacious park awaits you.
The palace building and the aquatic gardens have hardly changed in the almost 400 years since their construction. The spacious, over 60 hectares of park, is considered an exquisite example of garden architecture. And as you see it today is how the last prince-bishop of Salzburg had it laid out according to the exemplary design of an Italian pleasance.
