This Easter the restaurants in Grödig have found a special way to pamper their guests:
All 8 restaurants in Grödig serve various dishes with lamb meat. The meat comes from local farmers and is of best quality, of course.
You can enjoy the Untersberg lamb from March 24th until April 7th in all restaurants in Grödig.

The mountain Untersberg is known as a mystical and energetic place. Therefore the mountain is especially suited for meditation of any kind.
One way to get into unison with yourself and nature is to participate in a meditative walk. Every Saturday (from May-August, only if fair weather) you have the possibility to participate in a guided meditative walk. The meeting point is the tourist information in Grödig/St.Leonhard at 16:00 o’clock. Reservations are requested.
From June until July, there is also an additional yoga class at 18:00 o’clock in the nature, at the Mountain Untersberg. The perfect way to get into unison with yourself and nature!

Starting from Sallerhof you can explore the particularly attractive corners of our community in a relaxed way. Driving alongside the mountain Untersberg through meadows and forests you can enjoy the awakening nature.

Typical for the time before Christmas is the Krampus. It is a dressed person with a scraggy costume, a scary mask and noisy bells around the hips. Originally the Krampus is the companion of St. Nicholas who arrives on the 6th of December to award nice children.
As processions with the Krampus are becoming more and more popular they already start a few days earlier. But if you see a person dressed up as Krampus after the 6th of December its probably a Percht follower. They look very much alike but the Percht followers usually arrive on December 6th, December 22nd and January 6th to cast out winter.

Traditional highlight of the autumn in Salzburg is the harvest festival (‘Bauernherbst’).
The different regions in the country are presenting themselves and their products. The harvest time is celebrated and tradition and customs are revived.
In Grödig harvest time is celebrated too, for example with the ‘Erntedankfest’. During this festivity on September 18, a harvest crown made out of grain is carried in a procession through the village to the church.
After a mass, the people sit and eat together. The main idea of this festivity as for the whole harvest festival as well, is to be thankful for the rich harvest.
An important part of regional culture and tradition are the processions on the day of Corpus Christi.
Corpus Christi is a Christian holiday one week after Pentecost.
On this day, complex processions take place with marching bands, local costume groups, representatives of the church and many watchers and onlookers.
Usually there are different stations with decorated altars, where the procession comes to a halt and prayers and blessings are said.
On 23. June there’s also a procession in Grödig!
Whether you are a beginner or a pro- if you are interested in yoga you are without doubt going to like the yoga class on mountain Untersberg.
Every Friday and Saturday afternoon there is the possibility to join a yoga class- amidst the impressive scenery and nature of the mountain Untersberg. After a short hike you reach a special energy place for your yoga exercises. Afterwards you can relax during a concert.

Springtime has arrived in the Hotel Sallerhof in Grödig!
Not only in the garden but also in the Hotel itself you can see the messengers of spring in every corner.
By the way: Did you notice the two works of art in the pictures? The sitting barrels as well as the two heads at the entrance are by the Salzburg Artist Caroline Göllner and displayed at our hotel.
