Linzergassenfest

The district and street festivals are a popular change to the every-day routine for many local people in Salzburg.

This year the Kaiviertel starts the festivities with its Kaiviertelfest from May 24^th-25^th.

In June, the Linzergasse celebrates the Linzergassenfest from June 26^th-28^th.

And last but not least, there is the Steingassenfest from August 23^rd-24^th.

Kaiviertelfest

Some festivals, like the Linzergassenfest already exist since 30 years and therefore became a popular event for many local people. But whether you attend the Kaiviertelfest, the Linzergassenfest or the Steingassenfest- the festivals are used to show off the district/street, advertise for local businesses and entertain the visitors. There is no charge but usually a variety of bands and music as well as local dishes and events for children.

So the only thing that is left to do, is hope that the weather is warm and dry so that this years festivals are as popular and successful as always!

When one of the most sucessfull ski jumpers in Austria changes the business and grabs the camera, one can be curious.

The ski jumper Gregor Schlierenzauer takes pictures since 3 years from now and shoots impressions from his many travels. After his first exhibition “snapshots”, “quiet moments” is his second exhibition already.

Schlierenzauer gets support from the Leica Camera AG, which chose him for their mentoring programme and offers him high-quality material.

His work is displayed from March 4^th until May 1^st  at the Hangar 7 in Salzburg. The net profit from sold pictures goes to the foundation ‘Wings for Life’ which works on healing paraplegia.
