The baroque architecture of the city center of Salzburg is again the distinctive and unique scenery of the famous Salzburg Festival. This year the Salzburg Festival takes place from July 27 until August 30.
For those who do not have any tickets, there are the Siemens Festival nights. In the city center on the Kapitelplatz a lot of the plays and concerts are shown on an open-air cinema screen. This enables you to enjoy current Festival productions for free and in a special scenery and atmosphere.
From July 24 until August 15 you have the possibility to enjoy the open-air transmissions. At 18:00 p.m. audio transmissions start, at 20:00 p.m. when the light fades the cinema screen is put on.
